From spontaneous creation to structured art

My passion for art truly ignited during my time in Mexico, where I first encountered the raw energy of street art. It was there that I made my first genuine connection to spontaneous creation—a direct and instinctive way to engage with the world around me. This experience profoundly shaped my early artistic sensibilities.

Evolving through influence and exploration

Later, in New York, a pivotal encounter with the painter Jaouad Bentama deeply influenced my vision. This interaction spurred me to advance my artistic practice and express my ideas and emotions, initially through sculpture and then through painting. My work naturally evolved into a deeper exploration of form, texture, and meaning.

The symbol of resilience: the cactus

Upon my return to Paris, I found a powerful artistic direction through the symbol of the cactus. This form, with its quiet strength, reflects resilience, adaptability, and enduring spirit. Since then, my artistic path has been shaped by diverse travels, meaningful encounters, and constant experimentation, making each piece a fresh exploration and reinterpretation of reality.

Finding calm in connection: my artistic intent

I aim for my work to establish a quiet and enduring presence. Rather than evoking immediate or overwhelming reactions, I hope viewers experience a sense of calm, balance, and introspection. My sculptures are designed to exist subtly, allowing each individual to connect with them in their own unique way. Through the cactus form, I delve into themes of resilience, inner strength, and adaptation, believing that something silent and still can convey profound emotional depth.

Ultimately, I wish for my art to encourage people to pause, observe, and feel something deeply personal—an experience that evolves and resonates over time.

A unique artistic process: repetition and subtle variation

What distinguishes my creative process is my approach to repetition and variation. While each piece begins with a similar fundamental form, it evolves uniquely through subtle, deliberate changes. This method allows for a continuous exploration of structure and emotion, ensuring that no two artworks are exactly alike, yet all carry a consistent underlying theme.
